As much as they claim that they are working on solving the problem, there is still one clear conflict of interest in the structure of Wall Street. Investment Banks like Goldman Sachs can both give advice on securities and OWN the market makers of those securities. In fact, I see a conflict of interest if any financial bank owns specialist on the floor of the NYSE.
